These days, the mobile phone is something that people seem to cannot live without. We have been so dependent on these gadgets that many of us feel incomplete without it. Cell Phones today have evolved to do more than just receive calls and texts. You can surf the web, play games, do video calls, view a map, do research or even get some work done using your cellphone.

Everyone would agree if I say that these gadgets have made our tasks so much easier. The question is, are they making our lives a lot better? My mom always says that anything that is too much is bad. If you freak out when you get to work and realize you’ve left your cell phone at home, then you might just have a problem.

I grew up in the 90’s. Back then we did not have cellphones and I could say we got by just fine. Its really cool that we can now easily browse information on our phones and we can easily send messages through texts or emails. But somehow I am glad that I got to experience actually going to the library, using a card catalog to find the right book for whatever I needed to know. I think an email from a friend is not exactly as exciting as getting a postcard or a handwritten letter sent by snail mail.

Call me old fashioned, but all I am saying is that you can survive a day or two without your phone. Our generation got by just fine without them for a decade or two. it is not a need so don’t depend on it so much.

These days when an occasion happens and you want to show someone that you care, it is so easy to post something on their online profile, to send a text message with an emoticon or to make a video message with your cellular phone. But to tell you honestly, it is still so much better to see someone personally to show that you care.

The messages you send with your cellular phone or even a video call from you is nothing compared to seeing you be there for the people you care about. If there is a need to greet someone, do not rely on your phone to do the task. Use it as a tool to bring you closer to others. Use it to find out locations, fix schedules and set a date to meet with those who matter. life is short so do not just keep in touch online or through your mobile phone only. Make an effort to be with the people you care about while you still have the chance.

Although cell phones are helpful you should never be dependent on them. If you’re still smart to know how to do things manually so that when the need arises and yourself fully is not available, you can always go back to doing things by hand. Just like using a calculator. You should still know how to do the math operations and not rely on a calculator all the time.

This is the best article. I use my smart phone only to make a call and talk to people. That is what a phone is for. I have always said, if I am out with a woman and she pulls out THE PHONE, I would get up and leave because she values THE PHONE more than her time with me. DON B.
