We all feel stuck at sometime in our lives. We all have that moment of realization that we are not happy and that something is not right, but we seem to be helpless and can’t do anything about it. Well, that feeling is actually not right. You can make a change and get yourself unstuck if you really want to. But no one else can do it for you. You have to decide to make it happen for yourself and actually take the risks to do it.

Here are seven ways to get unstuck and live the life that you feel you deserve.

1. Stop Looking Back

Bad memories will continue to haunt you if you just keep going back, trying to figure out what went wrong in your life. You cannot change the past. It is over and done with. Do not waste today by recalling the moments that hurt you and the mistakes that you have done. Instead, learn from those experiences and look at your current situation. Think about what you can do to make things better now. That is your first step towards a better future.

2. Be Glad For Friends

When you are going through the phase of feeling stuck, good friends can really help you overcome it. Be appreciative of people who care for you and those give you advice. What they say may not always be what you want to hear, but if they really care for you, their suggestions will always be good for you. Learn to listen to them and do not be afraid to try their suggestions. Who knows? They may just have the solution for your problem.

3. Stop Complaining

When things go wrong people tend to complain, and honestly, no one wants to hear that. If things are not going the way you want them to, do not complain. It is okay to talk about it with a friend. This will help you analyze your situation and you may just get some sound advice. But look at your situation as a challenge you have to overcome. Know that things can get better. You just have to find a way out. Complaining, on the other hand, is just stating the problem over and over without seeking a solution.

4. Acceptance is Key

Be honest to yourself and accept that there are things that will never go the way you want them to. What you need to look for are the things that you can change yourself. Accept the challenge of taking that step towards your ideal life. Accept the people who come into your life and do not try to change them (because you can’t). Lastly, Accept yourself. Know what you can and cannot do.

5. Life is Like A Box Of Chocolates

Life will not always be fair. You will not always get what you want. But this unpredictability is what makes life so exciting. Anything can happen. And if you welcome new experiences and challenges, your life will be an adventure every day.

6. Don’t Dwell on Self Pity

When we are down we tend to fall into self pity. Shake it off and look around you. No matter how bad things are, someone out there has it much worse than you at that very moment. Someone out there would gladly give an arm to be in your shoes.

7. The Glass is Half Full

If you keep looking at what you do not have then you will always feel miserable. Start seeing the glass half full and realize the good things you still have. Be thankful for them and be hopeful for the things you still wish to achieve.
