6 Thought-Provoking Realizations to Make You Feel Better About Life


When you try to understand life, many questions will pop into your head. In the process you may just end up more confused and lost than before you even started thinking about it. There are many studies that try to explain human development and how to go about living a normal and happy life. But if you really want to feel better about life, it is best to just go back to the basics and simplify how we look at things.

I have compiled six of my favorite thought-provoking realizations that make me feel better about my life. They may sound too simple to be taken seriously but they actually work.

  1. You are part of a grand design

I heard this line from a song in the movie “The Prince of Egypt.” It stuck to my head and made me realize that I am not alone. The things I do in this life can and will affect the people around me. I then realized that I should be careful with the things I say and do. Just like touching water in a pond, the ripples we make can move the other parts of the pond.

We all have our roles to play in this life. Just like a stage play, we cannot all be the lead actors in the story, right?  The show will not run if the other characters will not do their parts well. Grow where you are planted, I always say. Do your best wherever you are and you will begin to take pride in yourself and eventually find happiness.

  1. No one can make you feel bad without your consent

It is definitely a dog-eat-dog world out there. We all know that nature’s law is survival of the fittest. Bullies are everywhere and they will definitely make your life a living hell if you allow them to. You can either just let other people walk all over you or you can choose to stand up for yourself. No one can make you feel bad without your consent.

  1. Shit happens

Life has its share of ups and downs. Do not let the bad days ruin your mood. I really like the bumper sticker slogan from the movie “Forest Gump” saying “Shit happens.”  It’s true. When you get to accept that it is natural to have bad things happen once in a while in your life, then you can just let these moments slide knowing they do not last.

  1. Don’t worry, be happy

Whenever I feel worried about something, I imagine the song “Don’t worry, be happy” playing in my head. It reminds me that worrying will not do me any good. All I can do is my best and what ever happens next will happen. If you stay positive and open to change, you know that everything always works out in the end.

  1. You reap what you sow

You cannot expect a banana to fall from an apple tree, right? Its simple. You reap what you sow. Do good things and good things will come to you. Think positive and you will attract good fortune according to the law of attraction. Do the opposite and you know what you will get.

  1. There is a yin for every yang

Lastly, life has its balance of good and bad.  The good thing about life is that we were given a choice. We have free will to decide which path to choose. Just remember that there is a yin for every yang. Wherever there is bad, good will rise against it.  Life has a way of balancing itself.
